Jordan Industrial Ports (JIPC) had the delight of welcoming an Australian delegation representing Fortescue Future Industries (Pty Ltd (FFP) in coordination with the Aqaba Development Company, as the company intends to invest in the manufacturing and exporting of green ammonia. Where the target of the visit was to visit the pioneer and leading companies in the southern industrial zone.
The General Manager, Eng. Khaled Shihadeh, provided a detailed summary of the development investment made by the owner companies (Jordan Phosphate Mines Company and Arab Potash Company), in addition to a description of the assets in the southern industrial zone concerned with ammonia, including tanks and handling systems, in addition to the investments intended to be implemented in this regard in the region. It included a field visit to the facilities of the industrial port and the ammonia tanks located within the boundaries of the industrial complex.
The visit reflected the fertile investment environment emanating from a model of partnership between the public sector and the private sector represented in concession and development contracts between the Aqaba Development Company as a concessionaire and the Jordan Industrial Ports Company as a developer and operator of the industrial port.
