- IT Supervisor/Superintendent
Industrial Ports, a leading terminal specializing in the handling of liquid and dry bulk fertilizers, is looking for an experienced IT Supervisor/Superintendent. Our operations are critical to the supply chain, relying on semi-automated systems.
The successful candidate will possess a deep understanding of enterprise-grade networking, system virtualization, storage management, and backup strategies, alongside strong development experience in .NET technologies. This leadership role demands hands-on expertise and the ability to manage diverse systems efficiently while mentoring IT staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee IT Operations: Manage the daily operations of the IT department, including network infrastructure, servers, workstations, and peripherals.
- SCADA System Support: Provide direct IT support for our SCADA systems, ensuring their reliability, security, and optimal performance for all terminal operations.
- Network Management: Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), and wireless networks within an industrial setting.
- Hardware & Software Management: Install, configure, and maintain hardware and software systems, including industrial PCs, PLCs, and associated applications.
- Troubleshooting & Support: Provide timely and effective technical support to all terminal staff, resolving IT-related issues efficiently to minimize operational disruptions.
- Vendor Management: Liaise with IT vendors and service providers for procurement, support, and maintenance of IT systems and equipment.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain comprehensive documentation of IT systems, configurations, and procedures. Generate regular reports on IT performance, security, and projects.
- Team Leadership: Potentially lead and mentor a small team of IT technicians, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.
- Project Management: Participate in and lead IT projects, including system upgrades, new technology implementations, and infrastructure improvements.
- Asset Protection & Business Continuity:
- Develop and implement robust disaster recovery plans (DRP) for all critical IT systems, including SCADA, network infrastructure, and business applications, to minimize downtime and ensure rapid recovery from incidents.
- Design, implement, and manage comprehensive data backup and restoration strategies for all critical data, configuration files, and system images, ensuring data integrity and availability.
- Cybersecurity & Risk Management:
- Implement, monitor, and enforce cybersecurity measures across the IT and OT (Operational Technology) environments to protect critical industrial control systems (ICS/SCADA), sensitive operational data, and business information from cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and unauthorized access.
- Conduct regular security assessments, vulnerability scanning, and penetration testing to identify and mitigate risks.
- Stay updated on the latest cybersecurity threats and best practices, particularly those relevant to industrial control systems.
- Develop and deliver cybersecurity awareness training to terminal staff.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in information technology engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in IT roles, with at least 5 years in a supervisory or leadership capacity, preferably within an industrial environment, Plants, or ports environment.
- Technical Proficiency:
- Demonstrated experience with SCADA systems and industrial control networks.
- Strong knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, VLANs, etc.) and network security principles.
- Proficiency in administering Windows Server environments, Active Directory, and virtualized platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
- Familiarity with database management systems.
- Proven experience in developing and implementing disaster recovery plans, backup solutions, and cybersecurity frameworks.
- Experience with industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, OPC) is a significant plus.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a capacity to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues under pressure.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical personnel.
- Leadership: Proven leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and manage a team, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects concurrently.
- Adaptability: Ability to work in a dynamic industrial environment and adapt to evolving technological needs.
